What's New?
  • Membership Renewals

It's that time of the year again when our memberships are due.

Full details have been sent out by email to all on the members list with an alternative route for those without electronic facilities.

Essentially 2 ways to re-join, either online via the email instructions or by attending the renewals evening at the club on Friday 5th April, 6:00pm - 9pm..

Not rejoining?  Please return any club equipment/keys/Trophies etc. to Ray.

  • The Joker makes an appearance

Our Joker hasn't made too many appearances recently but following our evening Horse Racing event neither of the two winners of the £5 prize managed to find him.   He is now tempting the club with a prize of
£322 - so make sure you get your ticket when they next go on sale.
How does it work? - Enter our £5 prize raffle and if you win the fiver, you will be entitled to a free entry into the Joker.   Find our famous chappie and you will win the Jokers Pot.

  • County Success! From our youth players

Olney Bowling Club has its own County Champion when Harvey Whitmack played in the U18 County championship at Aylesbury Town Bowls Club, and won. Hard on his heels is JD Boshoff who was 3rd Overall.   A real boost for Olney Bowls club who didn't have too much to shout about this year.  Well done our growing up Juniors.

  • The Coaching Centre

Our on-line Coaching Centre on our website carries some useful Video content which you can view during the season.   If you wish to 'book' some time with one of our coaches, have a word with our Chief Coach, Dave Hoyland and we can arrange a slot for you on a mutually suitable time & date.

  • Are you 8 - 18?

If you are aged between 8 -18 and fancy learning a new sport, why not give some thought to the game of Bowls.   We have some very good  Juniors who are playing at county level and attracting the attention of the England international selectors.   We are always looking to gain new members so if you are under 16, (over 16's can do it themselves) ask your parent/carer to drop us a note via our 'Enquiries Page' and someone from the club will be in touch to have a chat.

Welcome to

 Olney Bowling Club

Founded in 1906, the club is based at the Recreation Ground, Olney and is affiliated to Bowls England (BE) and  Buckinghamshire Bowling Association (BBA) .

We are always happy to welcome potential new members and visitors.   If you would like to find out more about the game of bowls, or try the game out for yourselves, you'll find us a friendly lot who are happy to share our facilities and encourage you to become part of the bowling fraternity.

Why not drop into our clubhouse during the season which lasts from May to October or give us a ring on 01234 240548 most afternoons or evenings, leaving a message if there is no one answering.    Not sure if you can come along and see us?   Go to our 'Enquiries' page, give us your contact details and one of our folks will be in touch.

Out of season contact can be made by phoning the club membership secretary Ray Smith on 07999 407184 or via the web.

Season 2024

**** Is Beckoning ****

Another season is about to come round and Olney Bowlers are looking forward to 6 months of total sunshine, success in every competition we play in, a fantastic social program and some great fun with our inter club, county and local competitions.    I think there are a few of these we won't see but whatever the weather brings, whoever goes on to win the competitions, we aim to have an enjoyable season.  For details of our calendar and links to the various ativities we have planned, visit our CALENDAR page and for details of our matches, head to our FIXTURES list.

Pop over to our competitions page to see those who picked up last seasons prizes at our recent Awards presentation evening in the Carlton House Club when in addition to the great food prepared by Josh and his team, we danced the night away to entertainment from Andrew Hutchinson, a firm favourite since appearing at our clubhouse social in 2022

Whilst most of the members will be enjoying their break from the hallowed turf, a number will be beavering away in the background doing many of the jobs which have to be done to ensure that season 2024 comes in smoothly.

Come back here now and again to find out what is going on at the Club and if you would like to find out more about bowling, or maybe give it a try, just venture over to our Contact page and let us know.   Someone will get back to you for a chat.
